Car Financing
Car financing in Chino, in plain numbers.
Price, rate, term and trade are four separate negotiations that get blended into one payment if you let them. We'll help you separate them so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.

What you get
- Get pre-approved first, so a dealer's rate has something to beat.
- See what APR is realistic for your credit tier — not a teaser rate you won't qualify for.
- Understand how 60, 72 and 84 months change the total you actually pay.
- Handle negative equity honestly instead of burying it in a longer loan.
- Know which contract add-ons are optional, and what they cost you in interest.
Watch out for
- Get preapproved before you shop, especially if you're planning to cross-shop Orange County dealers — it keeps every store negotiating on price instead of payment.
- Longer loan terms are common on trucks and larger SUVs here — always compare total finance cost, not the monthly number.
- Know your trade payoff to the dollar before negotiating a work truck trade — negative equity on a heavily used vehicle is easy to bury in a new loan.
- You can say no to add-ons like service contracts or protection packages and still keep a promotional rate — ask for the deal both ways.

A couple of details is all it takes to get a real answer.
Financing a work truck versus a family SUV
A work truck often carries a longer term and a larger loan amount than a comparable SUV, which makes total finance cost the number to watch rather than the monthly payment. If the truck is a trade with real wear from hauling or field use, get its payoff and trade value confirmed in writing before you let it get folded into a new loan, since negative equity on a heavily used vehicle is easy to bury inside a longer term.
- Preapprove through your own bank or credit union before shopping either the Inland Empire or Orange County market.
- Ask for price, rate, term and trade broken out separately on any deal involving a work vehicle trade.
What it costs around here
Real ranges, not quotes. Prices move with the car, the parts and the shop — send us your number and we'll tell you where it lands.
GAP coverage if financing with little down
Priced per contract, and always negotiable
Worth a look on a vehicle that will put on heavy commute or work miles, but never a required part of the deal.

Questions Chino drivers ask us
Should I get preapproved before shopping across two counties?
Yes. A preapproval from your own bank or credit union gives you one fixed number to compare against every dealer's offer, whether it's in the Inland Empire or Orange County.
Is a longer loan term reasonable for a work truck?
It can be, but always compare total finance cost against a shorter term, not just the monthly payment, especially if there's trade equity or negative equity involved.
