Car Financing
Car financing in Rialto, including credit-challenged.
If your credit isn't perfect, you have fewer options — but you still have options, and you still have leverage. We'll help you understand your real APR range and what's negotiable.

What you get
- Get pre-approved first, so a dealer's rate has something to beat.
- See what APR is realistic for your credit tier — not a teaser rate you won't qualify for.
- Understand how 60, 72 and 84 months change the total you actually pay.
- Handle negative equity honestly instead of burying it in a longer loan.
- Know which contract add-ons are optional, and what they cost you in interest.
Watch out for
- Dealers can mark up the rate the lender approved. Ask what the buy rate is, and shop a credit union preapproval as a check on it.
- Watch payment-first negotiating. Any payment is achievable by stretching the term; that doesn't make it a good deal.
- Extended warranties, GAP and protection packages are all optional and all negotiable. Get the deal quoted with and without them.
- If a deal requires a cosigner, understand that the cosigner's credit takes the hit too. Make the payment realistic before anyone signs.

A couple of details is all it takes to get a real answer.
Financing on a real household budget
Rialto's used-car buyers are, more often than in some neighboring cities, financing on a tight and very real budget. That makes the difference between a fair rate and a marked-up one worth hundreds of dollars a year, not a rounding error. A credit union preapproval, even with imperfect credit, gives you a number to hold the dealer's finance office to.
- Ask directly what the lender's buy rate is versus what you're being quoted, and expect a straight answer.
- Get the deal quoted with and without every add-on — service contract, GAP, protection package — before deciding on any of them.

Questions Rialto drivers ask us
Can I still get a fair rate with damaged credit in Rialto?
Yes, though your options narrow. A credit union preapproval is still worth getting even with imperfect credit — it gives you a real number to compare against whatever the dealer offers.
What if the dealer says I need a cosigner?
That's sometimes legitimate, but make sure the payment is realistic before anyone signs — the cosigner's credit is affected by the loan just as much as yours is.
